Massage seats have been in luxury, high-end Mercedes models for a few generations, but they are now available on more Mercedes Benz vehicles than ever before. On most available models, there is still an optional extra cost, but if you want your Mercedes to come with massage seating, you can now choose from a wide range of current models.
Most of the Mercedes range include massage seats as an optional extra – which means there is a cost to pay if you want this feature. In this article, we’ll take you through which models have massage seating as standard, how much it costs on other vehicles, and if we think it’s worth adding this option to your Mercedes.
Let’s get started!
What are Mercedes massage seats?
The massage seat function in a Mercedes allows you to select from a variety of different massage styles and intensity levels for the driver and front passenger. Different programs focus on specific areas, such as ‘relaxing shoulder’ or ‘activating massage’.
How to access massage seats in your Mercedes Benz
Accessing the massage seat function works differently depending on your Mercedes model. On most of their current range, to select your massage settings, use the infotainment screen and go to the comfort menu.
Once in comfort, you should have a ‘Massage’ menu option. Within that menu, you’ll find the different massage programs available to choose from. The short video from Autoblog shows you how to access these settings in the latest EQS model.

Are Mercedes massage seats worth buying?
Massage seats are a feature that most of us could probably live without in our cars, but once you have the option we guarantee it’ll get plenty of use. Across the automotive industry we’ve tried some cars with disappointing massage seats, but the Mercedes settings are definitely on the better side.
The massage seat function is most useful on longer journeys, when you’re spending a lot of time behind the wheel. Sure, we’ve used massage seats on shorter journeys, but overall you will feel the benefit after a few hours of driving.
The cost for massage seats in your Mercedes varies between $950 and $1,320, which is competitive with its closest rival, BMW. It’s still a lot of money though, and we’d encourage you to have a look at some of the better options available on your Mercedes Benz.
