Which Mercedes Benz Models Have Heads-Up Display?

The past few generations of Mercedes models have seen major advances in driver assistance tech. One of the best options has been the Mercedes Heads-Up-Display (HUD) system, which has been introduced on more models than ever before.

Across the current Mercedes Benz range, a number of models include a HUD system as a standard feature, and on other cars, you need to add the HUD as an optional extra. In this article we’ll cover which Mercedes models have this feature, how much it costs, and whether it’s worth adding to your Mercedes.

Let’s get started!

What is the Mercedes Heads-Up-Display system?

The HUD system in current Mercedes models includes plenty of information to help you check speed, navigation and lane guidance. Using a HUD allows you to focus on the road ahead and find that key info, without taking your eyes off the road.

The Mercedes HUD system isn’t the most advanced, with no details on infotainment or certain vehicle data. Even so, it’s useful to include and makes city driving significantly easier.

How to access the Mercedes Heads-Up-Display system

To turn on your HUD, go into the “Settings” menu on your central infotainment screen. Once there, go to the “Quick Access” menu, and you should have a HUD icon. Simply tap on the icon to turn your HUD on or off.

Once your HUD is on, you can adjust the brightness, content, and position using your steering wheel. Click the home button and then use the scroll button to move through the settings until you reach Heads-Up-Display. Once in that menu, you can change the position of the HUD, how bright it is, and what information it shows.

Is the Heads Up Display worth buying?

In our opinion, adding a HUD system makes driving so much easier, that it’s an easy recommendation overall. With city driving the Heads-Up-Display helps you to focus on the road when navigating, and it’s easy to check traffic warnings and speed limits on the highway.

The Mercedes HUD option might look expensive, but it’s in line with the cost of adding a HUD onto a BMW model, so we can’t argue with the price. If you’re ordering a Mercedes with the HUD as standard it’s guaranteed to be one of your most used features, and if you’re looking at a model with the HUD as an extra, it’s definitely worth trying out.
