Which Hyundai Models Have Ventilated Seats?

Ventilated seats have become one of the more popular options on luxury vehicles, and they are starting to appear on cars of all prices. Manufacturers like Hyundai have started adding this feature across their range, but there’s one problem. Like all optional extras, it’s difficult to know which Hyundai cars have ventilated seats…

If you’re looking for your next Hyundai, we want to help. We’ve put together this guide to ventilated seats to show you which models include the option, which Hyundais don’t, and our thoughts on how useful they are. We’ve also added a section to explain how they work and how to access ventilated seats in your Hyundai.

Let’s get started!

How do ventilated seats work?

Ventilated seats create a cooling function by using several fans built into the back of the seats. These fans are designed in a similar way to heated seats, with multiple intensity levels,

Ventilated seats are different from ‘cooled’ seats – these two features are often confused. Cooled seats use fluid stored within tubes that are built into the seat. This fluid is cooled and pumped through the seat.

How to use ventilated seats in your Hyundai

The ventilated seat option on your Hyundai is usually found in your central touchscreen menu under ‘Warmer/Ventilation’. Within this menu, you can turn on the seat ventilated for the driver and front passenger and adjust the intensity levels.

On some Hyundai models, the ventilated seat button will be located on the center console. This button will be next to the heated seat adjusters, and you can increase the intensity or turn off the ventilated seat with multiple presses.

Hyundai models with ventilated seats as standard

As you’d expect, the highest trim levels on the current Hyundai range include ventilated seats as standard. The majority of Hyundai cars have the ‘limited’ spec as their highest trim level, including almost every feature you can find on a modern car at this price range.

It’s impressive to see Hyundai include ventilated seats (along with other features) on their newer electric models, like the Ioniq 5 & 6. From other manufacturers, you occasionally find that their electric range is missing some key features, so it’s great to see Hyundai include these as standard.

Hyundai models without ventilated seats

Most low-spec Hyundai models don’t include ventilated seats, either as standard or as an optional extra. As ventilated seats are still a fairly expensive feature to install, it’s not surprising that Hyundai doesn’t include ventilated seats on every model.

Included in this list are less expensive Hyundai models, like the Venue and the Elantra, and also the lower trim levels on more expensive vehicles.

FAQs

Do any Hyundai models come with rear ventilated seats?

The Limited and Calligraphy trim level on the Hyundai Palisade comes with rear ventilated seats as standard.

Can you add ventilated seats to a preowned Hyundai?

You can’t add ventilated seats into a preowned Hyundai model. The entire seat would need replacing, and you would need to change the infotainment menus to control the ventilation.

Are ventilated seats worth buying?

Depending on your climate, ventilated seats can be useful or pointless. In warmer climates, they make a noticeable difference, especially on longer journeys, making them a must-have feature. If you’re in a milder climate, then it’s unlikely you’ll use the ventilated seat option too often.

Because Hyundai doesn’t include ventilated seats as a standalone option, if you choose a high-spec Hyundai model, chances are you’ll get ventilated seats as part of the trim level. If that’s the case, then it’s a solid feature to have, and even if you only use them for a handful of days each year, you’ll get some benefit.
