Heated seats are now an expected feature on most models, but manufacturers like Hyundai don’t include them on every vehicle. For the majority of drivers, you’ll want heated seats, so it’s important to make sure you can find the right Hyundai with heated seats included.
We’ve spent time looking through too many options lists on car sites, so we wanted to help out potential Hyundai owners to find the best car for you. Part of that is finding a car with the best features, and one of the most important options is heated seats. There are more options than ever on modern cars, and it can get confusing to find the best combination of features!
In this article, we’ve covered the Hyundai models with heated seats included, which ones don’t include heated seats and if we think they are worth adding as an option.
Let’s get started!
How do Heated Seats work?
Heated seats work with a system of coils built into the seat itself. When you turn on the heated seat function, the car passes an electronic current through these coils, heating the seat in a similar way to a hairdryer.
Most heated seats (including Hyundai models) have various levels of intensity, allowing you to change the level of heating. On most models, you’ll have heated seats in the front only, but premium models might include rear heated seats too.
How to use Heated Seats on your Hyundai
The heated seats in your Hyundai are controlled in one of two ways, depending on your model:
- For lower spec and older models, the heated seat controls are a physical button on your center console or dashboard. Multiple presses will adjust the intensity level and turn the heated seat function off. For rear heated seats, the controls are built into the rear of the console, in front of the middle seat.
- For high-spec Hyundai models, the heated seat function is operated through the central touchscreen. From the main menu, the menu under ‘Warmer/Ventilation’ allows you to turn on/off the heated seats and adjust intensity levels.
Does every Hyundai model include Heated Seats?

Hyundai models without Heated Seats
The entry-level trims (SE) for most Hyundai models don’t include heated seats. As these are the basic trims, these cars miss out on most of the features you find on higher trim levels.

Are Heated Seats worth adding to your Hyundai?
Personally, I couldn’t live without heated seats in my car. There aren’t many features that I look for straightaway on a car (maybe the reversing camera), but heated seats are definitely up there. I’m in a mild climate, and I’ll use my heated seats for a third of the year, so that is part of the appeal. Even so, I’d still want the option if I lived in a warmer part of the world.
Hyundai’s current range of cars includes heated seats on almost every option, which is a major bonus. Ok, the entry-level trims miss out, so if you’re looking at a Hyundai, I suggest upgrading to a higher trim level and take advantage of the extra features.
What other options should you consider?
Alongside heated seats, we love the ventilated seat option too. This isn’t available on every Hyundai, but it’s a fantastic addition if you’re in a warmer part of the world.
Also – this isn’t as ‘useful’ as ventilated seats, but the ambient lighting feature is an option we wouldn’t miss out on. It transforms the cabin of your Hyundai, and it’s available on most current models too.
