The massage seat feature is nothing new, but more and more manufacturers are including this option in their cars, and it’s easy to see why. With the expansion of their electric range Audi has added the massage seat option to more cars than ever – but which models come with this feature?

What are Audi Massage Seats?
The Audi massage seat feature allows you to select from a variety of intensity levels and massage programs for the driver and front passenger. Like most car massage features, the device is built into your seat, and depending on your Audi model, you’ll have a number of different massage ‘styles’ to choose from.
How to access your Audi Massage Seats
Your massage seats are controlled through your central infotainment screen. From the home screen, select the vehicle menu and then ‘seats’. This gives you access to the different massage programs, and form this menu, you can also change the intensity for driver and passenger.
Which Audi models include Massage Seats as standard?
Only the current S8 model comes with massage seats as a standard feature. This isn’t surprising as the S8 is Audi’s most luxurious vehicle, designed to compete with the likes of the BMW 7 Series – the only BMW model with standard massage seats.

Across the current Audi range, the below models include massage seats as an optional extra. As expected these are some of the most expensive Audi models, with starting prices over $100,000.
As with most features, you can only add the massage seat function as part of an options pack. The cost of these packs is shown below, and depending on the pack, you’ll get a number of features included. Cost wise these are expensive, but Audi does provide plenty of features, so there is value here.

Which Audi models come without the option for Massage Seats?
Below are the current Audi models without the option to add massage seats. As you’d expect this is most of the Audi range, and massage seats are still considered a high trim, luxury feature, only available on the highest spec models.
Overall the massage seat function is one that most owners can live without, so it’s not too disappointing to see Audi exclude this from so many models. In the future, we expect this list to get smaller as technology improves though.

Are Audi massage seats worth buying?
For us, the massage seat is one of those options we don’t really care about. I’ve driven a few vehicles (both from Audi and other brands) with massage seats, and while it looks good on paper, in reality I hardly used the option.
There is an argument for massage seats though, if you are regularly using your Audi on longer journeys. For highway driving over a few hours, the massage seats become a great addition to your car, and in this situation, we’d fully recommend choosing this option.
Cost wise, the fact that you can only get massage seats in your Audi through an options pack makes it tricky to judge. On one hand, if you are only bothered about massage seats, then I’d avoid the pack cost, but if you’re interested in a few of the features, the options packs can be value for money.
Other Audi options to look at
Alongside massage seats, Audi offers plenty of optional extras across their model range. With some improving the tech, others adding visual upgrades, and some options improving your comfort, it’s hard to decide which are best.
