Across the Camaro range, there are so many options and packages available it’s difficult to find the best value and the right model for you, and picking through all the choices can be frustrating. With this much choice, we wanted to give you our opinion on those Camaro packs you should be adding.
We’ve looked at packages across the Camaro range to help as many buyers as possible. This means you’ll find some packs available on specific Camaro models only. We’ve listed those models, so there are no surprises, but it’s worth checking out our other Chevrolet articles (at the bottom of this page) to find out more about individual options.
Let’s get started!
Technology Package
Camaro trim levels
- 1LT – $900
- 2LT – $900
- LT1 – $900
Features
- Bose audio system
- 12-month Sirius XM platinum trial
- Upgraded infotainment 3 plus system (with 8-inch HD color touchscreen)
Our first pack of choice is the Technology Package. Available on a few Camaro trims, this options pack is worth the money for the Bose sound system alone. Without the technology pack, you have a 6-speaker system, but upgrading to the Bose option adds either a 9-speaker (Coupe) or 7-speaker (Convertible) setup. The sound quality is improved too, with Bose’s Active Sound Management.
Alongside the audio upgrades, you also get a larger, more detailed infotainment screen. This upgrades your screen size from 7 inches to 8 inches and includes a number of additional features. You get voice recognition software and a few extra vehicle apps.
Finally, you have access to Sirius XM for 12 months. Most Camaro trim levels come with a 12-month subscription to Sirius Platinum, but the technology pack upgrades this to Sirius 360L. With the 360L pack, you get more customization options and more channels.
Why is the Technology Pack worth it?
Overall, for less than $1,000, you’re getting a major upgrade to your sound system, which for most brands would be over $1,000 anyway. On top of this, an improved infotainment screen just makes life in your Camaro easier, and then alongside this, you get 12 months of Sirius XM.
If you’re not interested in music, then the Bose upgrade won’t interest you, but even if that’s the case, $900 for an upgraded infotainment system is great value.
Redline Edition
Camaro trim levels
- 1LT – $2,390
- 2LT – $2,390
- 3LT – $2,390
- LT1 – $2,390
- 1SS – $2,140
- 2SS – $2,140
Features
- Red knee pads
- Red seat belts
- 20-inch black aluminum wheels with red accent
- Redline edition graphics and badging
Our next choice is the Redline Edition package, and this is all about making your Camaro stand out. There are loads of design packs across the Camaro range, and it was difficult to pick just one for this list. In the end, the Redline features just stood out a bit more, and it made our list here.
Why is the Redline pack worth adding? For us, we have to start with the wheels. There are plenty of different alloy designs available for the Camaro, but these 20-inch black wheels, with the red markings, just give the whole car a better presence. Combine this with the unique badges and the Redline graphics, and that’ll put regular Camaro owners to shame.
You also get a few changes inside the Camaro too. Continuing the theme, the Redline edition adds red seat belts and changes the side pads on the center console red too. It’s not as significant as the exterior changes, but it’s a nice touch.
Why is the Redline Edition worth it?
When you first see the price, at over $2,000, I expect a lot of Camaro buyers will be put off. In general, the majority of this cost is the new wheels, and if you’re not a fan, then the remaining features won’t be worth it. If you are a fan, then you’re getting a handful of upgrades for free essentially, and if you want your Camaro to make people look twice, this is one of the best packs to make that happen.
1LE Suspension Package
Camaro trim levels
- 1SS – $1,995
- 2SS – $1,995
Features
- Increasing steering precision and feel
- Adds magnetic ride shock calibration
Our next package doesn’t offer any visual upgrades, but it brings a major difference to the performance of your Camaro. Only available on the high-spec SS models, the 1LE suspension package completely changes your setup to provide better handling, and steering precision.
With new springs, control links, bushings, and more, the 1LE pack helps to keep your Camaro more controlled and keeps the car flat when it’s pushed. On the track and on better roads, you will notice the difference more, and it’s engineered specifically for the Camaro.
There are downsides, of course. It’s a firmer ride, so bumps will be felt more once you have this pack. At $2,000 it’s not a cheap option either, but suspension upgrades are a complex process, and the labor alone is expensive if you want an aftermarket alternative.
Why is the 1LE Suspension Package worth it?
If you want to track your Camaro SS, this pack is a no-brainer, simple as. Even if that’s a couple of times a year, and you want to push your Camaro a bit more on the roads, then this upgrade is going to give you a boost in handling and vehicle control. You’ll feel the difference on daily drives, but it’s not as stiff as it could be, and it’s still easy to live with.
SS Track Performance Package
Camaro trim levels
- 1SS – $7,000
- 2SS – $7,000
Features
- Recaro bucket seats
- Satin black rear spoiler
- Satin black hood wrap
- Magnetic ride control
- Black front splitter
- Electronic limited-slip differential
- Brembo front and rear brakes
- Suede microfiber gear knob and steering wheel
- Quad exhaust
- 20-inch graphite forged aluminum wheels
- Goodyear Eagle tires
- Heads-Up Display
We’re into the expensive pack territory now, and our next choice is the SS Track Performance Package. Also available on the 1SS and 2SS trims, this pack includes a mix of performance and visual upgrades, but it doesn’t come cheap. At $7,000, this is a lot to spend on an options pack after you’ve already spent over $40,000, but there’s some genuine value here.
First up, let’s look at the mechanical upgrades. You get the magnetic ride control adjustment that we saw in the suspension pack, and you also get a limited-slip differential and Brembo brakes. Combined, these are some serious changes to the performance of your Camaro, and it’s where most of the value is in this pack.
Alongside the mechanical upgrades, you get unique 20-inch wheels, a satin black spoiler, splitter and hood, and a quad-performance exhaust. Inside the Camaro, you get Recaro bucket seats, suede on the steering wheel and gearstick, and a new HUD.
Why is the SS Track Performance Package worth it?
There’s an awful lot in this package, and if you’re only after a couple of features (you want bucket seats and a quad exhaust) it’s definitely not worth it. For me, the features that most people will overlook are probably the best here. An electronic LSD is a great addition, and Brembo brakes don’t come cheap.
The satin black wrap won’t be for everyone, but it makes your Camaro SS stand out from the crowd – and when you’re paying $7,000, and you have four exhaust pipes, you want to stand out.
ZL1 Extreme Track Performance Package
Camaro trim levels
- ZL1 – $7,500
Features
- Carbon fiber hood insert
- Satin black hood wrap
- Performance Suspension
- 19-inch gloss black forged aluminum wheels
- Goodyear Eagle tires
- Carbon fiber spoiler
- Rear bench seat
- Red brake calipers
- Darker tail lamps
Our final pack choice is the ZL1 Extreme Track Performance. As the name suggests, this package is only available on the top-spec ZL1 Camaro, and it’s also the most expensive pack on our list, at $7,500. So the most expensive pack on the most expensive Camaro must be good, right?
Like the last few entries, the main cost of this pack is in the mechanical upgrades. You get the performance suspension upgrades we talked about earlier in the article and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. Not only are these lighter than your standard wheels, they come with Goodyear Eagle tires, and these are not cheap tires.
You also get a rear bench seat, instead of a 60/40 folded option. I’m not sure why this is a listed option as it doesn’t seem to include any weight saving, and practicality isn’t really the focus of the ZL1. Elsewhere, the extra carbon fiber and satin black add a nice touch, along with the darker tail lamps.
Why is the ZL1 Extreme Track Performance Package worth it?
If you want the very best from your ZL1, this is the only way to achieve that. Considering the starting price of this Camaro, an extra $7,500 might feel like a lot for options you would expect to be standard, but this pack really does transform your car.
I wouldn’t be surprised if most ZL1 owners chose this pack, as it perfectly captures what this Camaro is about. You’ve bought the ZL1 for the supercharged V8, and with this pack, you can unlock this car’s full potential. For $7,500, that feels like good value to me.
