The Chevrolet range has expanded massively in recent years, with more cars, trucks, and SUV models than ever before. Within that model range, you have some seriously expensive options and a few surprises. But how expensive does the Chevrolet range get?
When you think of Chevrolet, you probably picture Corvette or maybe a Camaro. Those models are on our list, but there are probably some unexpected options too. In the below article, we’ve covered the five most expensive vehicles on sale right now, and a bonus entry too. We’ll look at their starting price and the options available, and what makes them so expensive
Let’s get started!
5. Camaro ZL1: $70,300 – $85,000
- 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine
- 650 bhp / 650 lb-ft
- 6-speed manual / 10-speed automatic
- Most expensive option: Extreme Track Performance Package ($7,500)
Starting our list is the most expensive Camaro on sale right now, the ZL1. The Chevrolet Camaro needs no introduction, and as one of the most famous muscle cars ever, the current Camaro has a lot to live up to. This ZL1 version captures that muscle car identity perfectly, with a 6.2L V8 engine and, even more impressively, a manual gearbox option.
It’s not just the powertrain that’s responsible for the $70,000+ price tag. Almost every optional extra from lower spec Camaro is standard here, including a Bose sound system, HUD, ambient lighting, and Recaro bucket seats. You also have a number of exclusive features, only available on the ZL1. These include specific Goodyear Eagle tires, unique exterior decals, and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels.
The hardtop ZL1 also comes with the ‘Extreme Track Performance Package’, removing the rear seats, changing the suspension, and plenty more. This $7,500 option transforms your Camaro into the best possible car for the race track.
4. Tahoe High Country: $79,300 – $104,200
- 6.2L V8 engine
- 420 bhp / 460 lb-ft
- 10-speed automatic
- Most expensive option: High Country Deluxe Package ($4,210)
Our next Chevrolet is the Tahoe, one of their larger SUV models. The highest spec Tahoe available is the High Country trim, and starting at just under $80,000, this has some impressive tech inside. Is it worth that price tag, though, which can exceed $100k with options?
The Tahoe is designed for almost every situation – whether it’s towing, offroad exploring, or simply taking the family away, this SUV can manage it. With a 7 or 8-seat configuration, there’s an incredible amount of space in the Tahoe, and the practicality doesn’t stop there. With a gross vehicle weight rating of 7,500 lbs, you can easily tow most trailers with the Tahoe.
That $80,000+ price tag isn’t just there to cover the practical parts of the Tahoe. Inside the High Country trim you get a HUD, 360-degree camera, wireless Apple & Android connectivity, and plenty more. Front seats are heated and ventilated, and second-row seats get heating too. You also get remote start, wireless charging, and six USB ports, perfect for long journeys with a full car.
Finally, this wouldn’t be a proper SUV without the ability to handle difficult terrain. The Tahoe is at home both on and off the road, with adaptive air suspension. This helps to adjust each wheel independently, perfect for off-road terrain.
3. Suburban High Country: $82,300 – $103,000
- 6.2L V8 engine
- 420 bhp / 460 lb-ft
- 10-speed automatic
- Most expensive option: 22-inch Chrome Wheels ($3,695)
In third place is the largest Chevrolet on sale, the Suburban. Powered by the same V8 engine as the Tahoe, the highest-spec Suburban is also the High Country trim. So what makes this SUV start at just over $80,000?
The first difference is a minor one, but the Surburan High Country gives you a gross vehicle weight rating of 7,700 lbs, slightly higher than the Tahoe. It won’t make much difference to most owners, but that extra practicality may help. Elsewhere on this Suburban you get air suspension, the option for Brembo brakes, and the usual hill descent and assist functions.
Inside the Suburban, it’s as impressive as you’d expect for an $80,000 SUV. With space for 7 seats you’ve got plenty of storage, and it’s a comfortable place for every passenger. The interior design is almost identical to the Tahoe, with the same technology available
Overall, the Suburban just edges the Tahoe when it comes to the most expensive SUV, simply because it’s a larger vehicle. With slightly more interior space and a greater towing capacity, you’re paying an extra $4,000 for the most practical Chevrolet you can buy.
2. Silverado 3500 High Country Dual Rear Wheel: $85,500 – TBC
- 6.6L V8 engine
- 401 bhp / 464 lb-ft
- 10-speed automatic
- Most expensive option: Technology Package ($1,775)
In second place on our list is the first truck we’ve seen, and it’s the Chevrolet Silverado. In High Country trim and with a dual rear wheel configuration, the Silverado starts at $85,000. Unfortunately, Chevrolet has supply issues for some features at current, so we weren’t able to confirm the cost of this truck with options included.
Even so, at $85,000 starting price this is a lot of a ‘commercial’ vehicle. So what makes the Silverado cost this much money? There’s the 6.2L engine, slightly underpowered compared to our previous SUV models but still putting out over 400 bhp. Then you get to the towing capability, and with a gross vehicle weight rating of 14,000 lbs, you can see why this truck is a popular option.
This is a huge vehicle, capable of carrying 5 passengers in comfort, with 83 cubic ft of space in the bed, and all that towing capability. I expect most Silverado owners won’t get close to the full potential of this truck, but it’s better to have that option available at least.
This doesn’t mean the Silverado cuts corners when it comes to comfort and tech. With a surround-view parking camera and a separate camera just for the bed, you’re covered from every angle. You also get a Bose sound system, wireless Appl & Android connectivity, and much more. Front seats are 10-way adjustable and come with heated and ventilated options.
1. Corvette Z06 Convertible 3LZ: $130,250 – $203,000
- 5.5L V8 engine
- 670 bhp / 460 lb-ft
- 8-speed automatic
- Most expensive option: 21-inch Carbon Fiber Wheels ($13,500)
In first place, and the most expensive Chevrolet on sale, is the Corvette Z06, in 3LZ trim. The current Corvette model is available in two specs, the Stingray and the Z06; the most expensive Stingray starts at just over $85,000, but we didn’t want to include two similar models on this list.
When you look at the specs on the Z06, and compare the performance to similar cars, that $130,000 price tag doesn’t look too expensive. With a 0-60 time under 3 seconds this is comfortably in supercar territory, and when you start adding options this becomes a car that can compete with models four times its price.
Speaking of options, the highest trim 3LZ models come with an incredible variety of features. You get Nappa leather bucket seats, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, plenty of carbon fiber in the interior trim, and much more. The luxury and tech features aren’t the standout here though; it’s the performance options.
Starting with wheels and tires, you can upgrade to lighter carbon fiber wheels for $13.5k. Speaking of carbon fiber, the Z07 performance pack is for anyone wanting the very best out of their Corvette. For $9,000 you get upgraded Brembo ceramic brakes, a new suspension system and Michelin Cup Sport tires. It’s an expensive investment, but if you want to take your Corvette onto the track, you need this package.
Bonus – 2024 Corvette E-Ray Convertible 3LZ: $122,500 – $171,000
- 6.2L V8 engine
- 655 combined bhp / 470 lb-ft
- 8-speed automatic
- Most expensive option: 21-inch Carbon Fiber Wheels ($13,500)
As a final vehicle, we wanted to include a bonus option. Coming soon, the Corvette E-Ray is a slight variation on the Z06 model, with a hybrid powertrain. Performance and technology is very similar to the Z06 we’ve covered above, but this will be a different type of Corvette offered from Chevrolet. Also, starting at $122,500 this won’t come cheap, so it will definitely make our list in the future!
